A welcome change from the usual studio style family portrait, I just did these for a friend in her back garden.
A new profile pic for my fiercest critic and biggest fan.
My first image on sale with Getty Images. I'm planning that this shot of Nona, a staffy rescue dog, will be the first of many.
Kate Garraway
In honour of the great comedian Phil Lucas who I had the pleasure of meeting and taking pictures of yesterday, here is the fragrant Kate Garraway who was one of my first celebrity shoots back in 2007. She is and was lovely of course, oh and Phil only has a mild obsession with her. Pictures of Phil to appear here soon.
Here are Phil and Kate in conversation. Very funny.
Stags and Hens
I'd normally cross the road to avoid rowdy stag and hen groups, but when you use models and nicely designed t-shirts they are much more appealing. We had some fun shooting Sam, Kerri, Ty and Jonny from Fresh for stagandhentshirts.com at the Brighton Media Centre Studio last week. My stag days are well and truly over but if they weren't I'd have my mates decked out in these!
I was pleased with this shot on the iPhone, the result of a campsite hangover and the need for an early morning stroll at this weekend's Forgotten Fields Festival which was conveniently close to home in East Sussex.
This month's Readers Digest layout using one of my pictures of entrepreneur and inventor of Pavegen, Laurence Kemball-Cook
Tiny Dancers
Saturday morning dance classes at Mayfield School. A great little shoot but tricky not to include myself in the shots due to the many mirrors.

@jamesroyclarke Thank you for another wonderful set of photographs for @Mayfieldgirls ..you are amazing!

Hello, World!

Laurence Kemball-Cook
A little shoot I have just done for Readers Digest. Laurence Kemball-Cook is a young entrepreneur and inventor of Pavegen. Pavegen is a remarkable pioneering technology creating flooring that harnesses the energy of footsteps. The technology has already been installed in over 100 projects in more than 30 countries, in train stations, shopping centres, airports and public spaces.
High Praise Indeed
A great little recommendation from Jonathan Jewell, creative director at The Drummer Agency who I have worked with on a number of projects including those focussing on child poverty in developing countries for Compassion International.
"James has been our photographer of choice over the last several years often accompanying our video teams in some challenging locations around the globe. Working, as we do, for many charity clients, James has the ability to help us tell stories through powerful portraits and reportage shots and his photography has been the backbone of some very successful campaigns over the past 4 years. His knowledge, attitude and experience are a perfect match for our approach and our clients. As creative director I seek out professionals who can exceed my expectations and can take an idea and execute it better than I imagined - James does just that and his work is testimony to that".
The pic below was something he art directed and I shot at a Compassion project in Kampala, Uganda.

School Drama
Some shots for The Freshwater Theatre Company who come to schools giving interactive drama classes. Here are 3 different year groups in action from Sebright Primary School in Hackney, East London.
