Art Bin - Nearly Full

This is one my shots of Michael Landy artist and creator of Art Bin, the huge transparent skip at The South London Gallery where fellow artists are encouraged to dump unwanted artworks. This was shot back in January with a few items that were due to go into the bin which closes down this weekend. I was impressed by the huge scale of this project and always like the idea of getting rid of stuff which Landy took even further with his previous work where he fantastically smashed up everything he owned.

He asked me if I had anything to contribute. I didn't, of course.

Aliens and Wayne Rooney

This is Lord Martin Rees, the Royal Astronomer and president of The Royal Society. A shot I did for this month's Prospect Magazine.

They don't usually commission photography being a serious word-heavy intellectual publication. However, The Sun, who are at the complete opposite end of the publishing spectrum, picked up part of the interview, Lord Rees' idea that aliens are beyond our understanding and could be anywhere. The Sun illustrate this with pictures of Wayne Rooney next to a pigeon with the caption "Is it coo, or Roo? ... Aliens may be in many forms, says Lord"

It's funny how a sensible conversation with a Lord can lead to a link being made between Rooney and a pigeon that appeared on page 3 of The Sun. The full interview and another one of my pics can be seen here:
