Inspired by the classic american imagery of the old west, I realised that a number of the small local churches near me in the East Sussex countryside, could, with a bit of imagination, look like they are in the US.
The History Lady
Seaside historian Kathryn Ferry in Hastings for this month's BBC History magazine. A lovely lady who explained Hastings glamorous 1930s heyday and showed us the surprising amount of it that still remains.

Photographer @jamesroyclarke has taken some incredible pictures of people with diabetes and the lives they lead http://t.co/2HMjWUP30N

Hold The Health Page!
The result of a short phone interview with The Sunday Post about my diabetes portrait project. I like the layout and the headline and they seem to have got my gist!
Mayfield Sports Day
A few moments captured during a day of sport at St Leonards-Mayfield School. Lots of fun as well as some serious athletic achievements, no messing around with eggs and spoons here!
Men In Devon
A few shots from last weeks trip to Devon with the boys. It's our 10th annual cycling and male bonding excursion so we celebrated with a tad more luxury, some less strenuous cycling and more of an emphasis on fine food, a few dips in the sea and a bit of fishing. Memorable moments include Jon's barbecued mackerel and large pollock, Jem's flatbread, Chris losing his shorts in Aldi, Johnny's bike servicing and me being sick down the side of the fishing boat.
On the photography front, I decided, mainly out of laziness, to shoot everything on my iPhone and after playing around with filters and saturated colours, I decided to remove all colours and go black and white.
Esther
My pic of the formidable Esther Rantzen in this week's Mail On Sunday.
A Midsummer Night Of Outdoor Drama
A few shots from a fantastic evening of al fresco Shakespeare at St. Leoards-Mayfield School.

The Working Artist
Crista Cloutier. American lady, old friend, Charlie Chaplin obsessive and the brains behind www.theworkingartist.com, "everything they never taught you at art school". Photographed here on the balcony of her London flat.
School Drama
My latest little shoot for the nice people at The Freshwater Theatre Company who were performing at The Hugh Myddleton Primary School in Islington. They come to school and really entertain the kids with drama workshops, shows and storytelling. The volume and excitement levels get seriously high, I really needed a sit down and a quiet latte after this.

Camber Sands
A few pics from last weeks little family jaunt down to Camber Sands starring Billy, Daisy Mae, Betty the dog, a horse and a scruffy terrier that wee'd on our sandcastle.
New Website and Blog
Here's a blog from my new blog to introduce my new website. I've given the old online presence a bit of a spring clean, dumped a load of the older pics and upgraded with a cleaner minimal new look.
Check it out here: www.jamesclarke.me I hope you like it and any feedback would be most welcome.
